Must be my turn again. Gloomy day with a slight drizzle, which isn't a bad thing.
Last couple of days I've been busy with our flight reservations. The tour agency didn't do a great job for us, and when I got around to checking things out it took a lot of hands-on work to get things (more or less) straightened out. Since we're fabulously rich (guffaw) we prefer to use better-class amenities. When I inquired about our seating assignments, which I think should have been included in our flight itinerary, I found out that we had none for the Los Angeles to Washington leg of our outbound flight. Called the agency again, lady said since it was a continuing flight it was the same plane and same seats as DC to Rome, which isn't what I had heard. Went to the United website, and sure enough there was a plane change, completely different aircraft type, and the Airbus that went cross-country had no Business seating. Unhappy camper? You bet. Round and round with the agency, not much satisfaction. Got United's customer service and found that we could secure 1 first class seat. Might get another if we're lucky. We do get the other bennies like meals, though. Helluva way to start a trip, though. Hint: if you happen to take a tour with any of the Globus companies be sure to do early follow-up, as they don't take great care of the details. I don't say not to use them, but keep an eye on 'em. Their lower-cost brand, Cosmos, gives good value. We saw Switzerland with them. Great trip.
So I won't be posting for a while. Back around July 2.
